Incredible Weekend

What a great weekend we enjoyed at Team Church! On Saturday we had about 75 volunteers from the Matthews Campus travel one hour to where our new campus will be located. It is in Lancaster county and near the city of Kershaw.

Volunteers began to show up at 8am on Saturday morning and we were ready for the HUGE crowd that came for our Easter egg hunt and family fun day. An estimated 1,500 people showed up for the 3 hour long event. Kershaw has a population of 1,600!  The great thing is that people from all over the area came and most just stayed and played! They enjoyed cotton candy, snow cones, four different type bounce houses, hot-dogs, chips and drinks……All for FREE! It was a great way to introduce our ourselves to the community.

Then, on Sunday, we officially launched our new campus in Lancaster Co. It too was a great success! Our core group and volunteers did a great job giving that area an Easter Service like nothing else in that area……and many people came out to experience it! How many came???? C’mon….you know I don’t use the Team Church BLOG for numbers! (We said from the start of this daily BLOG that we would not fall into the trap of so many others and use this as a high tech way of  making sure all the others reading this BLOG know how big  we are! This BLOG designed for Team Church people…if you want to know…just ask. ) Let’s just say it went very well…..and that the area has a great new style church that is poised to reach and impact the surrounding area in great ways!   Why?  Because we are focused on reaching those who don’t currently go to church…and when ever you do that…..you reach and impact people.

While Team Church Lancaster Co. was enjoying their first ever service….we here in Matthews enjoyed a dynamic Easter as well! The band, tech team, video and creative arts team all did an incredible job. All our volunteers also did a great job! Special thanks to the parking team that was able to get our largest Sunday morning crowd  in and out in a safe and quick manner. The parking lot looked crazy in between services….but that team did a great job!

The best part of the morning were the comments afterward! I could tell that this Easter was not just a normal Easter!I hope that many of you were able to experience this verse that ended our video presentation.

Matthew 11:27-29

27 “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
